Image Converter

When you drop an image into the converter, the browser decodes it into a Canvas element and redraws the pixels into a raw framebuffer. That framebuffer is then re-encoded to your chosen format — JPG, PNG or WEBP — using the browser's native encoders. Because we fully re-encode from scratch, EXIF tags and other metadata are stripped automatically, which improves privacy and shaves extra bytes.

There is no upload step. The file never leaves your device, which is why the tool keeps working even if you disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

JPG is best for photographs and scenes with smooth gradients — it produces tiny files with almost invisible artefacts at 80–90% quality. It does not support transparency, so PNG or WEBP transparent pixels are flattened onto a background color of your choice.

PNG is lossless and supports transparency — perfect for logos, icons, screenshots and UI graphics. File sizes are larger for photos.

WEBP is the modern web default: it supports both lossy and lossless compression plus transparency, and typically produces 25–35% smaller files than JPG or PNG at equivalent quality.

Most free online converters ask you to upload each image to their server, process it there, and let you download the result. A copy of your file exists on infrastructure you don't control.
