How GST is calculated
To add GST, multiply the taxable amount by the rate and add it back: Final = Amount × (1 + Rate / 100).
To remove GST from an inclusive price, divide by (1 + Rate / 100) to recover the taxable value. The difference is the GST component.
For intra-state transactions the GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. For inter-state transactions the same total is charged as a single IGST line.
